To set up your digital antenna, you’ll connect it to your Fire TV Recast––not your TV itself. You’ll hook it up using the coaxial cable. Before moving to the next step, make sure the connection is secure. Also, don’t forget to plug in your antenna to the wall to get power.

How to Record Live Shows and Movies on Fire TV Recast
Now that you’ve successfully installed your Fire TV Recast, you can record your favorite media. There are three ways to do this:
Record Through Your TV’s Main Menu
Navigate to your streaming device’s home screen. From there:
- Select “DVR” from the top menu.Choose the channel guide, then select the show you want to record.Select “Record Series” or “Record Episode.”
If you’re already watching a show and want to record it, simply click the remote’s menu button and select “Record.”
Record Through the Fire TV App
You can use this feature even if you’re away from home. To do this, navigate to the “On Now” listing and choose “Record.” If you’re actively watching a show on the Fire TV app, select “Record” to do the same thing.
Your Alexa will basically “tell” your DVR to record those programs. You can review these recordings at any time by saying, “Alexa, show my recordings,” and you can make selections from there.
