Why did Teams disappear from Outlook?
If Teams’ Outlook add-in is missing, it is likely disabled, and you can easily enable the Team add-in. Also, a user needs to have at least one Exchange mailbox configured on Outlook, in the absence of which, the add-in wouldn’t be present.
Besides, users need to sign into Teams with Modern Authentication for the add-in to appear, another critical condition often overlooked.
How can I download the Teams Outlook add-in?
1. Insert the add-in in Outlook
- Launch Outlook on your device.
Microsoft Office 365
With Office 365, you will get all the software collaboration integrations, including the Teams add-in for Outlook.
Click on the Home button.
Press the Add-ins button. This will open another window featuring all add-ins that you can install.
Click on All, then write Microsoft Teams in the search field.
Toggle the add-in on using the controls next to it. Teams and Outlook should now be connected on your device.
To make sure you installed the add-in, go to File, then click on Manage Add-ins or Manage Apps, and check whether Teams is in the list.
If you have installed Microsoft Teams and either Office 2010, Office 2013, or Office 2016, the Microsoft Teams add-in for Outlook should be already installed in your Outlook. You will see the Microsoft Teams Meeting add-in on the Outlook Calendar ribbon.
However, it could be disabled, but you can easily enable it back on in a few clicks via Add-ins Settings in Outlook.
That’s it! If the Microsoft Teams meeting add-in for Microsoft Office was missing, it should be available now. If you still get the add-in, execute the following command in Run, and it will launch the dedicated troubleshooting page:ms-contact-support://smc/teams-addin-for-outlook-missing
