Following the release of Dropbox on Windows Phone, Dropbox updated their app for Windows Store, as well. This update brings a couple of new features, including the improved PDF Reader and file picker.

It looks like Dropbox is paying much more attention to Microsoft’s platforms than before, which is normal since the two companies agreed the partnership recently. First, Dropbox presented its much anticipated app for Windows Phone Devices, and now the Dropbox app for Windows is getting some enhancements. The main improvements from the v1.0.3.0 update are improved PDF reader and file picker. Also this update brings the ability to use Dropbox as auto-upload service for your photos in order to store them safely online. There are the fixes for the most common bugs that Dropbox users reported, as well.

Just as a reminder, Microsoft and Dropbox singed a partnership deal which allows users to directly access Dropbox from their Office apps and edit Office files directly from the Dropbox app. This deal should bring profit to the companies because it is supposed to bring a lot of new potential customers to both sides.

Dopbox released its app for Windows 8 and RT way back in January, 2013, but with this version users were only able to access stored files from the Start Screen. Also, Windows Phone version was released in January this year, but the fact that Dropbox waited so long to present it’s Windows Phone app is indeed strange, considering the popularity of the service.

Here is the complete changelog for the Dropbox v1.0.3.0 update:

  • Improved file open picker and file save picker
  • Improved PDF Reader
  • Added Dropbox as a system camera auto-upload option
  • Fixed our most common bugs
