Mass Effect: Andromeda was released a little while ago and by now it’s clear it was less impressive than fans expected.

Mass Effect: Andromeda flooded with flaws

The game is full of bugs that had a very negative impact on the game’s story. Nobody knows why EA delivered the game as a total mess when everyone was expecting an amazing game. BioWare said that it would issue bug fix patches and cosmetic upgrades as a response to the negative responses. But sadly, this might be all in vain if we were to believe their reports.

Developers removed from BioWare Montreal

According to Kotaku, there are four sources who confirm that EA is stripping BioWare Montreal of developers and will move them onto their other projects, including Battlefront II and BioWare’s mysterious new IP which is for now codenamed “Dylan”.

BioWare Montreal has been relegated to a support studio and will provide work for EA’s other titles. It previously made Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer component and rumors say that in the near future, it will receive similar tasks.

On the other hand, when it comes to the Mass Effect itself, EA seems to have put the whole franchise on pause and there is no follow-up planned for Andromeda.

When BioWare was asked to comment, its response was typical:

We can’t really say that the Mass Effect franchise is dead considering its large fan database and fame of its IP, but on the other hand BioWare seems to be focusing on other games atthe moment.

With our BioWare and Motive teams sharing studio space in Montreal, we have BioWare team members joining Motive projects that are underway. We’re also ramping up teams on other BioWare projects in development. There will be much more to come from BioWare in the years ahead.
