If you have an Elgato HD60 Pro capture card inside your PC, Elgato has both a warning and a fix for you involving the Fall Creators Update.

The issue and its solution

The driver for the card can go into an endless reboot loop, rendering it totally useless. Elgato created a fix for this problem, but the company is asking its customers to update their card’s firmware and drivers before they decide to install the Fall Creators Update.

Legato began by telling users that the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is out and just like it usually happens with significant operation system updates, there are some low-level changes that can produce effects on hardware. The c0mpany confesses that this time, the one piece of hardware affected is its HD60 Pro.

Fortunately, the company also issued a solution to the problem by releasing a new software update, 3.60.108, which includes a new driver that will fix this issue.

Elgato’s recommendations

If you’ve already installed the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, Elgato recommends you first roll back and only then proceed to install the new drivers and firmware.

It seems that not all users of the HD60 Pro were hit by this issue after installing the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, but it’s always best option to stay safe than sorry.

It’s recommended you take Elgato’s advice before installing the latest update for Windows 10 if you own an HD 60 Pro.
