Facebook has launched Internet.org to its 11th country now. Mark Zuckerberg, the social giant’s founder and CEO made the announcement on his Facebook page yesterday.
Internet.org will be running TNM and Airtel Malawi networks, giving people access to free basic internet services.
The platform so far offers access to the internet to 1 billion people. Of those 9 million people got online for the first time and access 100+ free basic services available globally.
High-altitude aircrafts currently under construction will beam internet access to communities from the sky. The Aircraft wings that are 42 meters, have a flight altitude of 18-27 kilometers and access coverage 40-80 Sq. Kilometers.
Internet.org is now available in Colombia, Ghana, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya, India, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Philippines, Guatemala.
