Microsoft is not playing around in its bid have the best Office Suite on the web, and is on the path of doing just that. Recently, the software giant managed to convince Facebook to use Office 365 as a service, a clear sign that Microsoft is moving in the right direction.

According to the report, Facebook CIO Tim Campose, made an appearance at Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference on Wednesday, July 13 to talk about his company’s adoption of Office 365, reciting the words “Microsoft got cool again.”

“We collaborate on everything online—no files, no fragmented information stores—and we provide our employees with the ability to work anywhere and in any way they want,” Campos wrote in a blog post. “Our IT has to be flexible and available over the web, on mobile and across platforms — wherever our employees need it. This is why we’ve implemented Office 365.”

Facebook will only use the Calendar and Email portion of Office 365 and won’t use Yammer or even Skype for Business because those services compete with some of the company’s own offerings. The company also plans to use Delve, a feature that works alongside OneDrive and SharePoint. For those of you not aware, Delve makes it possible for employees to tell who is working on what.

Office 365 is not the only thing Microsoft talked about at its Worldwide Partner Conference. We understand there are plans to bring Surface devices to the business arena. This is called “Surface as a Service” and should be ready before 2017.
