The dream of any Xbox One gamer is to have a fully customized console and a custom-designed controller. Luckily, it’s easy to the do the latter: just visit the Xbox Design Lab webpage and personalize it yourself.
Microsoft introduced the Xbox Design Lab at E3 and recently started shipping controllers to fans. The program allows you to fully customize your Xbox One controller and choose from more than eight million color combinations to do so. Prices start at $79.99 and gamers can also add an engraving option for an extra $9.99.
The price for a custom-made Xbox One controller is 30% higher than the price for regular devices, but it appears fans aren’t bothered by this. Some Xbox One gamers even confirmed they would pay more to have the possibility to customize the console as well as their Kinect devices.
Microsoft is now shipping the first Xbox Design Lab controllers and fans should receive them by the end of this month. Users are notified via an email as soon as their controller has been shipped.
For the time being, this service is available only in the US. Microsoft hasn’t confirmed whether it’s planning to make this service available outside the US or not.
Customizing your controller is easy and fun. You can select the color of the body, back, bumpers and triggers and the other components while you view the changes in real time.
