According to users they are getting “SD card slot disabled. You can’t use SD cards on your phone because of a server policy.” message. This can be big problem if you store a lot of important data on your SD card, but there are a few workarounds. Users have already tried performing hard resets but that just temporarily fixes the problem.
According to users, after a hard reset SD card is detected but as soon as you reboot your phone the problem starts again. Performing a soft reset sometimes help and shows the SD card, but that’s also not a permanent solution.
How to Solve Problems with SD Card in Windows 10
Before we start with solutions, it won’t hurt to check and download the latest build. If that doesn’t help, try some of our solutions below.
Solution 1 – Disable Work Access and move Airwatch from SD card to phone storage.
- Disable Work Access by going to Settings > Accounts > Work Access > Airwatch > Delete. We have to warn you that by doing so you’ll lose access to emails and contacts stored at work account.
- Reboot your phone and your SD card will now become available.
- Move the Airwatch app from SD card to phone storage.
- If you need to use Airwatch run it from the phone storage.
Solution 2 – Remove your Exchange account
Some users report that removing your work Exchange account from Your Email and Accounts fixes the problem. So you may want to try removing your Exchange account and using just your Outlook account. After removing Exchange account reboot your device and your SD card should be working again.

Update: When it comes to Windows 10 phones, Microsoft has already given up hope about the future of these devices. The company decided to focus on its Windows 10 desktop OS and cloud services instead.
If you haven’t switched to another mobile platform, we’re afraid you’ll be forced to pretty soon. Windows 10 Mobile will soon become obsolete, it no longer receives new features and it obviously can’t keep up with the latest Android or iOS phone models.
