What can I do if Windows 10 keeps installing Skype?

1. Uninstall and reinstall Skype

  • Open up your Start menu.
  • Click on Control Panel.
  • Now click on Uninstall a Program.
  • Select Skype and uninstall it.
  • Afterward, proceed to download Skype from its official website.
  • Open the file and reinstall the program with the onscreen instructions.

Alternatively, you can use uninstaller software to completely remove Skype and all Skype-related files and registry entries from your PC.

I’ve not had problems with Skype before, but now everytime I open it on Windows I am requested to download the update. I do this, install it, and go about Skyping. However, when I try to open it again (in a day or two or three), I again am prompted to download a new update. I’ve restarted after installing, so I’m not sure what the issue is. Any ideas/help?

2. Remove residual files
