Various issues in Windows 10 builds are a common sight. That’s just how the system works, though: An issue occurs, users report it, and Microsoft fixes the problem in one of the next builds.

Recently, Microsoft addressed one of the annoying problems that have been bothering Windows Insiders for quite some time: Windows 10 build 15019 finally fixed the problem which caused the Settings app to crash each time users set up an option to look for an app in the Store under “Choose default app”.

Microsoft let us know about this fix in the Windows 10 build 15019 announcement post. However, the company didn’t precise what exactly was done. So, if you’re asking what caused this problem and how Microsoft managed to resolve it, we couldn’t tell you. However, the important thing is that the issue doesn’t occur anymore.

We fixed an issue where Default apps Settings would crash of you clicked an app under “Choose default app” and selected the option to look for an app in the Store.

All you need to do to fix this problem is install the latest Windows 10 build by going to Settings > Updates & security, and checking for updates. Remember, you need to be on the Fast Ring of the Windows Insider program.

On the other hand, if the build didn’t solve the problem and the crash still occurs when you try to change a default app for a certain operation, please let us know about it in the comments below.
